Below are links to some of my writings, divided by publication. Probably my favorite piece is “Alan, Alien”, published a number of years back in New York Magazine about a 9-year-old undocumented immigrant. Another article I really enjoyed working on, again from early in my writing career, is about a Brooklyn sweatshop. That piece is linked here.
More recent pieces look at NYC’s hidden sanitation workforce, the dramatic rise of extreme poverty, the growth of blue collar temp work, reviews of a new book about Rosa Parks and another on the city of Detroit, and the USDA’s proposal to make life even worse for poultry workers.
